Charleston School of Law President Constance Anastopoulo has been named to The South Carolina 500, a program celebrating the most influential and accomplished professionals throughout the Palmetto State.
Anastopoulo, who was named Charleston Law president in 2025, led the School institution through its transition to a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. She was also selected as a member of South Carolina Lawyers Weekly’s Influential Women Class of 2025. The award honors outstanding women lawyers and judges who are making a difference in the profession and their communities.
Anastopoulo began her career as an investment broker at a Wall Street firm and later earned her Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1992). She practiced law privately for 15 years before transitioning to academia. Beyond her academic leadership, Anastopoulo has served as Board President of Time Served, Inc., and as President of Daughters of Penelope Philanthropy.
The South Carolina 500 editorial team selected “outstanding individuals who are driving innovation, creating jobs, building communities, and making South Carolina a better place to live and work … these leaders represent the very best of South Carolina’s entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to excellence.”
In addition, Charleston Law alum Nickisha M. Woodward (’13) was recognized by The South Carolina 500. She is a partner and litigator at Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP. Woodward recognitions include Best Lawyers in America 2026 and SC Lawyers Weekly Influential Women of Law 2024. She is also a 2025 Riley Institute Diversity Leader Initiative Fellow.
