Knowing the law and practicing it are two very different things. Charleston School of Law bridges that gap through a suite of advocacy programs designed to transform students into practice-ready attorneys. In Transactional Law, students develop the drafting, negotiation, and deal-structuring skills essential to modern business practice. In Trial Advocacy, they learn to command a courtroom — from opening statement to closing argument. And through Moot Court, they sharpen the art of appellate argument, defending legal positions under pressure before experienced judges. Together, these programs ensure that every Charleston Law graduate enters the profession not just prepared — but tested.
The Center for Trial Advocacy will serve law school students, alumni, and the local legal community by providing an opportunity to meet, collaborate, learn, and improve courtroom and advocacy skills.
The Center will work closely with Charleston School of Law’s experienced faculty, alumni, and local community leaders to provide advocacy-centered curricular and extracurricular programs, CLEs, the Professionalism Series, internships, externships, and other networking opportunities and events.
For students interested in practicing transactional, corporate, and business law, the Center for Business and Transactional Law provides an opportunity to learn everything from contract basics to the complexities of modern business law transactions.
