New staff joins Charleston Law

Charleston School of Law has announced the addition of new members to our leadership and staff for the upcoming 2025-26 academic year.

Jeremy Whitaker has been named Chief Financial Officer at the Law School. Whitaker earned his undergraduate degree in Accounting from Limestone College and his Master of Accountancy from Gardner-Webb University.  He previously served as Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer at Limestone University, where he led all finance and administrative operations and implemented strategies that strengthened the institution’s position and supported its mission during a time of significant challenges. He brings a proven ability to build strong financial foundations and advance long-term sustainability that will serve the Law School well into the future.

“Jeremy possesses the skills to build and lead high-performing teams that execute the institution’s strategic priorities effectively,” said Interim Dean Jon Marcantel. “Charleston Law leadership looks forward to working with him to raise the value of the Law School mission, vision, and goals.”

Karen LiBrizzi has been named the Director of Institutional Advancement at Charleston School of Law. She previously served as the Vice President of Advancement at Bergen Catholic High School in New Jersey where she was responsible for alumni relations, fundraising, special events, and foundation and corporate partnerships.

“We are excited to welcome Karen to the Charleston Law family,” said President Anastopoulo. “She brings a wealth of experience in fundraising, strategy and alumni relations. Her experience will be a valuable asset to Charleston School of Law.”

Andrew English has been named Director of Institutional Research. He recently served in the same role at Limestone University. English earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Harding University and a Master of Public Administration (specializing in higher education administration) from the University of Arkansas.

“Andrew is an accomplished leader in assessment of academic programs,” said Marcantel. “His experience in developing and expanding institutional research and effectiveness is a critical asset for the Law School.”

Rachel Ferguson Bailey joins Charleston School of Law as a Career Services Advisor within the Career Services Department. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of South Carolina and her Juris Doctor from Charleston School of Law as a member of the first graduating class in 2007. 

“We are thrilled to welcome Rachel to the Career Services team,” said Megan White, Assistant Dean of Career Services. “Her extensive experience within the judiciary, both at the state and federal levels, will be a tremendous asset to our students in their professional development.”

The Charleston Law Office of Academic and Bar Success welcomes two new additions to the team: Jordan Dinopoulos and Sean Peppard.

Dinopoulos is a graduate of Virginia Tech where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Affairs and Planning.  She earned her Juris Doctor from St. Louis University School of Law. She comes to Charleston Law from BARBRI Global where she served as the National Director of Legal Education. Prior to that she worked as an attorney with a Maryland firm representing clients in real estate litigation matters.

Peppard is a graduate of New York University where he earned his Bachelor of Sciences degree in Culture and Communications. He earned a Master of Arts in Human Resources Training and Development from Seton Hall University, College of Education and Human Services.  He earned his Juris Doctor from Rutgers Law School. Peppard also served our country as a Private First Class in the United States Army and as a Senior Airman in the United States Air Force Reserves.  His most recent work was as a Special Assistant to the Director of the Academy Training Center at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, Department of Homeland Security.

“Sean and Jordan’s instructional and mentoring experiences will enhance the work of the Office of Academic and Bar Success, which is to support student success from day one of law school through to the bar exam,” said Vice Dean and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Margaret Lawton.  “We look forward to working with them in this shared goal of student success.”   

Kim Gailliard has also joined the Student Affairs team as a Student Affairs Specialist. Gailliard, who earned a Master of Public Administration from Francis Marion University and a Bachelor of History from the College of Charleston, previously worked in Student Services at The Citadel and the College of Charleston. She served as an Event Coordinator for the City of Charleston and Outreach Coordinator for the City’s Housing and Community Development department.

“We are so pleased to have Kim join our team,” said Jaci Crowley, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs. “Her prior experience in higher education will be a great asset to our students.”

The Fall 2025 semester begins next week at Charleston School of Law with students arriving on campus for Orientation Week. The official first day of classes is Monday, August 18.
