Audrey R Brown recently received the Pro Bono of the Year award from the Charleston County Bar Association.
Brown, who currently serves as a Senior Staff Attorney at Charleston Pro Bono Legal Services, was recognized for her contribution to public interest law. The honor is given annually to a lawyer for their excellence, achievement, and commitment to providing legal services to Charleston’s low-income residents and/or disadvantaged individuals and/or organizations serving such individuals.
She was a visiting student at Charleston Law during the 2011-2012 academic year, and was a member of the ADR Society, Children’s Advocacy Society, South Carolina Family Court Bench Book Project, and the Center for Heirs’ Property Preservation Volunteer.
She is also an adjunct professor at Charleston Law, working with law students in the Charleston Pro Bono Family Law Clinic.
Brown earned her Juris Doctor degree in 2012 from Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University.
The Charleston County Bar Association is a nonprofit organization committed to promoting ethics and education within Charleston County’s legal community and assisting the public through outreach programs and service projects.
