Charleston, S.C. selected No. 1 City

The readers of Southern Living Magazine have selected Charleston, South Carolina the No. 1 City in the South for the 9th consecutive year. The readers chose the Lowcountry for its “rich culture, food, and history.”

The remaining cities among the Top 5 included:

2. Savannah, Georgia

3. Asheville, North Carolina

4. New Orleans, Louisiana

5. Nashville, Tennessee

The Charleston Regional Development Alliance reports “Charleston’s population is growing 3X faster than the U.S. average … a steady stream of well-educated young talent, who come for jobs – or create their own in our business-friendly community.”

The Charleston metropolitan area is a burgeoning location to live, work and play. Some of the most-respected organizations call Charleston home, including: Boeing, Blackbaud, Google, Gildan, Joint Base Charleston, Medical University of South Carolina, Port of Charleston, Mercedes-Benz Vans, Nucor Steel and Volvo, giving Charleston a wealth of career opportunities.

For those of us who call Charleston “home,” the warm, sandy beaches, great Southern cuisine and a gentle summer breeze that typically lasts year-round. We invite you to come visit us and see for yourself why Charleston is considered second to none.
