Charleston School of Law offers pro bono training and an information session in January and February.
The Charleston County Probate Court Adult Guardianship Assistance and Monitoring Program training begins next week with scheduled sessions at:
Attend three training sessions for half-credit and work with a partner to visit and report to the court on the well-being of incapacitated adults under guardianship. Most students earn about five pro bono hours for the training and their service the first time they volunteer. Returning students do not have to repeat the training and must send the Returning Volunteer Form to Elizabeth Currie by February 10 if they would like to volunteer again. Lunch will be served. Tri County S.P.E.A.K.S. will host an Information Session on Wednesday, February 11, at 12 p.m. (Room 219). Learn about pro bono opportunities with this area nonprofit that provides legal assistance to survivors of rape and sexual assault. Lunch will be served.
Students who have completed at least one semester of law school should sign up on CORE under Events. To earn pro bono credit for training, you must serve the program. You receive half-credit for training and full credit for service to a pro bono program. Please wait and submit your pro bono hours after you have served the program.
