Charleston School of Law alumnus Tony Romeo (’17) will kick off the Spring ’26 Professionalism Series.

Romeo graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 2002. Tony was commissioned as an officer in the US Air Force on May 30, 2002, and served 5 years as an Air Force Intelligence Officer. In 2017, Tony graduated from Charleston School of Law.  Tony’s latest chapter has been founding Deep Sea Vision, a company focused on the early stages of deep-sea mineral mining and archeological salvage in the Pacific, as well as on searching for lost aircraft such as Amelia Earhart’s and MH370.

According to the American Bar Association, “Professional identity focuses on what it means to be a lawyer and the special obligations lawyers have to their clients and society. The development of
professional identity should involve an intentional exploration of the values, guiding principles, and well-being practices considered foundational to successful legal practice.” To that end, the School of Law hosts events throughout the year that promote professional identity development for all members of our community.

Graduation Requirement: Prior to graduation, all law students, except those earning academic credit in an Externship or Clinic, must attend at least one Professional Identity Formation Series event focused on bias, cultural competency, and racism. Events satisfying this requirement will be designated with an asterisk, and attendance will be recorded and noted in the student’s degree audit.
