FACULTY

Professor Jean Steadman is an Associate Professor and Director of the Center for Business and Transactional Law at Charleston School of Law. She teaches Contracts I and II, Sales, Business Associations, Drafting Preliminary Agreements, Litigating a Transaction, and Practical International Business Transactions.

Charleston School of Law boasts a distinguished business law faculty with extensive practical experience, scholarship and publications.

The faculty expertise extends to contract law, UCC law, international private law including the CISG and UNIDROIT Principles, business law, corporate governance, securities law, mergers and acquisitions, complex business transactions, international business transactions, and other business subjects.

The Charleston School of Law faculty are dedicated to both their fields of study and to teaching the next generation of transactional law lawyers. The faculty have an open-door policy and are often found having informal discussions on transactional law topics outside of class.

Charleston School of Law is also dedicated to providing challenging and new opportunities to its students through electives taught by talented adjunct faculty composed of alumni, local practicing lawyers, and local and state corporate in-house counsel.

The Center for Business and Transactional Law supports the work of the Dean of Academic Affairs and Curriculum Committee with offering drafting electives and practical skills courses focusing on contract negotiations.

The Center for Business and Transactional Law will host intramural transactional law competitions, academic conferences and promote the faculty’s legal scholarship as it continues to expand.
