Megan C. White is the Assistant Dean of Career Services & Director of Judicial Clerkships. Dean White teaches a Judicial Clerkships Course and the Judicial Externship Course.
Megan White joined Charleston School of Law in May of 2024. She oversees the Department of Career Services and the Judicial Clerkship program.
Before joining Charleston Law, White was a Partner at Richardson Plowden & Robinson, P.A. in Charleston, SC. She focused her practice on construction defect litigation, asbestos and toxic tort litigation, and tort and personal injury defense. White has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a “South Carolina Rising Star” for Construction Litigation (2024) and Charleston Business Magazine as “Legal Elite” for Insurance Law (2020-2021).
Prior to private practice, White served as a law clerk to the Honorable George C. James Jr. of the Supreme Court of South Carolina and as a law clerk to the Honorable Carmen T. Mullen of the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit. She also worked as a staff attorney at the Supreme Court of South Carolina.
White earned her Juris Doctor from Charleston School of Law in 2014, where she was the Associate Editor in Chief of the Charleston Law Review and a member of both the James L. Petigru American Inn of Court and the Sir Francis Drake American Inn of Court. During law school, White served as a Research Assistant, LRAW Teaching Fellow, and President of Women in Law. She received the Charleston Law “Giving Back” Award for Outstanding Efforts in Public Service and Leadership and was selected for the Forensic Club. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, magna cum laude, from East Carolina University in 2010.
She is a member of the South Carolina and North Carolina Bar. Currently, she is a Ninth Circuit Delegate on the S.C. Bar House of Delegates for the 2024-2026 term. White also serves on the Planning Committee for the S.C. Bar’s Leadership Academy and has done so since graduating from Leadership Academy in 2022. White previously chaired the Special Projects Committee of the S.C. Bar Young Lawyers Division and has been recognized as “Star of the Quarter” by the S.C. Bar Young Lawyers Division.
