ABOUT US

Charleston School of Law is an ABA-accredited law school committed to preparing students to provide public service while pursuing their passions in various areas of the law. For students interested in practicing transactional, corporate, and business law, the Center provides an opportunity to learn everything from basics to the complexities of modern business law transactions.

  • The Center for Business and Transactional Law trains law students to understand all aspects of the transactional process from client meetings, risk assessment, contract negotiations, transactional drafting and closing the deal.
  • The Center for Business and Transactional Law gives interested law students a solid foundation of contract, commercial and business law, and doctrinal law and provides exciting learning opportunities inside and out of the classroom for law students to gain knowledge and to develop and practice the skills required for the next generation of outstanding leaders in law and business.
  • The Center for Business and Transactional Law works closely with Charleston School of Law’s experienced faculty, alumni, and local legal and business leaders to provide real-world experience through doctrinal courses, electives, Professionalism Series events, internships and externships, and networking opportunities.
  • The Center for Business and Transactional Law also serves the greater Charleston business law community, including lawyers, business owners, directors and in-house advisors by hosting regular speaking events, conferences, and practical experience hands-on opportunities on contemporary and emerging business and transactional law topics.
