Charleston School of Law graduate Aris Hanchard Ferguson (’17) has been nominated as a Woman of Influence by the Charleston Business Journal.

The Women of Influence award celebrates the exceptional achievements of women in our community at the Charleston Regional Business Journal 2023 Women of Influence Awards. These remarkable women and young achievers have demonstrated exceptional leadership, resilience, and innovation, paving the way for future generations.

Ferguson is a general counsel attorney at the City of Charleston Housing Authority. She graduated from the Charleston School of Law in 2017.

J. Patrick Norris (’09) has joined the law firm of Gordon & Rees Skully Mansukhani

The firm announced the news earlier this month. Peter G. Siachos, managing partner of Gordon & Rees’ Charleston office, said in a statement, that Norris has “earned the reputation for aggressive, strategic legal representation and a commitment to client service in South Carolina.”

Norris, a 2009 Charleston School of Law graduate, specializes in defending against professional liability and personal injury claims, along with construction litigation. He also provides nonlitigation support for contractors and design professionals.

“I was drawn to Gordon & Rees by its compelling opportunity, offering unparalleled resources and support,” Norris said in the firm’s statement. “This platform enables me to cultivate my practice further, ensuring I can effectively meet the evolving needs of my clients across a spectrum of industries.”

Norris previously worked for Copeland Stair Valz & Lovell LLP.
