December 3, 2005: Law school receives provisional accreditation
Charleston School of Law received provisional accreditation from the American Bar Association (ABA).
2005: Law School establishes Moot Court advocacy program
The Charleston School of Law Moot Court Program is established. The advocacy program facilitates and encourages skill development through practice and competition.
2005: Trial Advocacy Board established
The Trial Advocacy Board is established in 2005 with a mission to prepare students to become ethical, experienced, and zealous lawyer-advocates. Participation is founded upon a student’s commitment to the pursuit of excellence in advocacy.

The first issue of the Charleston Law Review is published.
2006: The Federal Courts Law Review is established
The Federal Courts Law Review is established and published.
2007: Charleston Law Review hosts the first Law & Society Symposium
The Charleston Law Review hosts the first Law & Society Symposium in collaboration with Furman University’s Riley Institute.
May 19, 2007: Founding class graduates

June 3, 2008: Abrams appointed dean
Andy Abrams is appointed dean of Charleston School of Law. “How do we enhance the legal profession and impact the law and this community?” said Abrams. “That’s why the school is here. That’s my mantra.”
2009: Student Bar Association is formally created
The Student Bar Association is formally created by a Constitution ratified by the student body. The SBA is composed of Executive, Legislative, and Judicial Branches.
July 1, 2009: American Inns of Court charters The James L. Petigru American Inn
The American Inns of Court officially charters The James L. Petigru American Inn. Each year, approximately twelve students from the Charleston School of Law are invited into membership based on their demonstrated leadership, professionalism, public service, and academic commitment.
2010: MALABU Maritime Law Bulletin releases its first issue
MALABU Maritime Law Bulletin publishes its first issue in Law School history.
August 9, 2011: Charleston Law receives full accreditation
Charleston School of Law receives full accreditation by the American Bar Association.
