May 2021 Commencement Information

What: School of Law Administration continues its planning for a socially distant, in-person commencement ceremony for the Classes of May 2020, December 2020, and May 2021.

When: Saturday, May 15, 2021 (COVID permitting)

Where: McAlister Fieldhouse, The Citadel (COVID permitting)

Tickets: Attendance will be limited due to social distancing restrictions imposed by the venue and public health guidance issued by state and local health officials.  Information about the number of tickets per graduate will be released as soon as it is available.  Free tickets will be issued to participants in advance for distribution to family/friends.

Streaming: Commencement Exercises will be streamed, live, and may be accessed in real-time for free.  Information about how to stream the event will be published in May 2021.

Attire:

Regalia can be ordered by visiting the Oak Hall website.

  • School of Law Regalia: tam, tassel, gown and hood are required to participate.
  • Honor cords and pro bono cords will also be distributed by the law school. Student organization cords will be distributed separately by the individual student organization.

Remember: Under the robe you should wear comfortable clothing. You will want to be appropriately dressed for the reception once you remove your robe. Gentlemen should wear a tie.

What not to bring: sunglasses, croakies, purses or cell phones. There is not a secure location to store these items during the ceremony.

Photos:

GradImages will provide professional photography of each graduate as they cross the stage. Please complete an information card when you complete your graduation packet if you are interested in ordering photos. Information regarding graduation packets will be sent at a future date.

Photographs will be posted online on the Charleston School of Law GradImages Page. Students will be provided a private password to access their individual images, or they may look them up by entering their last name and graduation year. Email notifications will be sent to each student when the photographs are available online. Full color proof cards will be mailed to the student’s home address within one week following the ceremony.
