Charleston School of Law Assistant Dean for Academic and Bar Success Michele H. Berger received a grant as part of the 2025-26 AccessLex Association of Academic Support Educators (AASE) ASP Faculty Scholar Program.
Berger received the grant for her forthcoming article Rewiring Legal Education: Teaching Strategies for Students with Traumatic Brain Injuries at the 12th annual conference of the AASE at Suffolk University Law School in Boston. The event attracted colleagues from around the country to “elevate each other and thrive in legal education and in the legal profession.”
“Charleston School of Law continues to focus on excellent teaching and the needs of our students to be successful in their pursuit of their law degrees,” said President Constance Anastopoulo. “Asst. Dean Berger’s article is evidence of our attention to supporting our students’ needs.”
The Association of Academic Support Educators (AASE) supports “professional development of academic success educators, who work to ensure legal education is accessible to all students” and “seeks to raise awareness of issues affecting law school academic support professionals.”
Berger will present the article — Rewiring Legal Education: Teaching Strategies for Students with Traumatic Brain Injuries — at the 2026 AASE conference.
