Alumna co-chairs committee that collects donations resulting in more than 2,000 pounds of food being donated to South Carolina food banks

Paige Ornduff ’15, co-chair of the SC Bar Young Lawyers Division Community Law Week committee, was instrumental in organizing the committee’s first Feeding Frenzy donation drive. As a result of the donations collected through this project, more than 2,000 pounds of food were donated to South Carolina food banks. William Hammett ’12 married Alex Belesky on March 24, 2018.  They met in early April 2014 and were married almost to the day four years later.  It was a small wedding with approximately 150 guests in attendance in the quaint countryside of Greenwood South Carolina.  Sean Scapellato ’13 presided as the officiant.  Hal Cobb ’12 and Michael Dill ’13 were groomsmen. Will and Alex honeymooned in Italy, seeing the cities Florence, Venice and Rome for the first time.  The happy couple asked that the warmest gratitude be extended for the outpouring of congratulations and well wishes.

Elizabeth was recognized for her hard work and contributions in planning Bowling Buddies, an annual fundraiser to support the Special Olympics of South Carolina. The event pairs Special Olympic athletes with young lawyers for a night of bowling, all while raising funds for the Special Olympics.

Passionate about giving back, she is actively involved with the YLD’s efforts to support and advocate for the Special Olympics and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Elizabeth is an associate at Rosen Hagood where she practices in the areas of business and commercial litigation, construction law and litigation, and personal injury.

Alumni named to the 2018 Georgia Super Lawyers Rising Star List

Evan A. Watson ’08 and Fatima Alexis Zeidan ’10 have been named 2018 Georgia Rising Stars by Super Lawyers. Evan devotes his time and efforts to DUI and criminal defense work. Fatima is a personal injury attorney who has devoted her career to defending the interests of the everyday man, seeking justice and advocating for the oppressed.

Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are recognized as a Rising Stars. Super Lawyers, part of Thomson Reuters, is a research-driven, peer-influenced rating service of outstanding lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.
