Librarians are on staff to assist students and faculty with research requests. Librarians are trained to assist you with research queries and hold either the M.L.S. (Master’s in Library Science) or J.D. (Juris Doctor) degree. Some are dual degreed, having both an MLS and a JD. They can help devise research strategies, formulate search terms and queries, and help find print and electronic legal and non-legal materials.
Borrowing Privileges for the Circulating Collection
Charleston School of Law students have borrowing privileges each semester they are enrolled in law school. Materials that routinely circulate can be checked out for three weeks. Codes, reporters, loose leafs, periodicals, multi-volume series and books with pocket parts do not circulate. Materials can be renewed once if another patron has not placed a hold on the item. Please contact the Circulation Desk at ext. 1119 or firstname.lastname@example.org to renew or hold an item.
If the Law Library does not have an item you would like, we can try to obtain the material from another library via the inter-library loan process. Time to obtain such materials varies. Please fill out either a Book Request Form or a Law Review/Journal Request Form. Follow the directions on the form(s) to submit your request via email. If you have any questions about your request, email email@example.com
