Tuition, Withdrawals and Refunds

CAP offers applicants to the Charleston School of Law J.D. program, whose LSAC score and/or GPA are of concern, the opportunity to earn a place in the next entering J.D. class. CAP participants take two online law school courses taught by law school professors. Participants who successfully pass CAP are admitted to the next entering J.D. class.


Tuition for CAP is $500.00. The current price and terms are subject to change for any future CAP sessions. If invited to participate in CAP, you will be sent payment information.

Pay tuition online

Tuition for Session I is due on or before May 1, 2018. Tuition for Session II is due on or before May 22, 2018. Tuition does not include the cost of textbooks.

The $500.00 CAP tuition will be credited toward fall tuition for students who successfully complete CAP and enroll in the next entering fall J.D. class at the Charleston School of Law.


If you decide not to complete CAP, you must officially withdraw by notifying, in writing, the Charleston School of Law Office of Admission. You may do this by emailing the Office of Admission, Giving verbal notice to a staff or faculty member or merely ceasing to attend classes does not constitute a withdrawal. If you do not take your examination(s) and you have not withdrawn from the program by written request you will receive a failing grade in your course(s). Students will receive a confirmation that they have been officially removed from the program. Until you receive confirmation, you are not considered as withdrawn.


If withdrawal occurs in accordance with withdrawal policies, the tuition refund policy for CAP is as follows:

  • Before midnight on the day before the first day of class – 0% of tuition is retained by the school.
  • At any time on or after the first day of class – 100% of tuition is retained by the school.
