CAP Orientation

This page is intended to provide students in the Conditional Admission Program (CAP) with the information necessary to be ready for the first day of class. Please be sure to review all of the documents. Also included are suggested readings and other resources that give insight into the best practices for the study of law.

Items to Complete

  1. Notify Dean Bell with where you will be taking your final exams
    • There is no fee to take the exams at the Charleston School of Law
    • There is a fee to take the exams remotely
  2. Ensure that your computer meets the Charleston School of Law requirements
  3. Review the CAP policies and objectives
  4. Understand how to use GoToWebinar – be on the lookout for a GoToWebinar invitation email
    • Install and test the software
    • Register for my online CAP classes
    • Review how to participate in my online CAP class by:
      • Asking and answering questions
      • Downloading and uploading documents
      • Collecting and submitting assignments
  5. Understand how to use ExamSoft for Windows or ExamSoft for MAC:
    • Download, install and test it

  6. Create your TWEN account – be on the lookout for an email with your Westlaw password
    • Learn how to access the class syllabus and download documents, PowerPoints, and PDFs from TWEN
  7. Review what your professors will expect of you
  8. Review all of the information on the CAP webpage
