Faculty Assistant

The Charleston School of Law seeks resumes for a full-time Faculty Assistant. The Faculty Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support and assistance to several faculty members on a variety of tasks and projects. The Faculty Assistant must maintain accurate attendance records, provide administrative and clerical support to faculty as needed, act as a liaison between faculty and students, and follow up with faculty members to ensure all necessary semester materials are submitted to Academic Affairs in a timely manner.

Qualifications and Requirements:

    1. An associate’s degree or higher; or equivalent related experience.
    2. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer skills are required.
    3. Organizational skills, effective communication, and a high level of attention to detail and confidentiality are essential.

Systems Administrator

Systems Administrator

The Charleston School of Law seeks resumes for the full-time position of Systems Administrator.  The ideal candidate must be motivated, detail-oriented, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.  This candidate will work on individual projects, as part of a team, and successfully work with students, faculty, and staff, bringing a problem solving-aptitude to the Law School. This position will primarily be responsible for maintaining resources within the Information Technology infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • The priority of the Information Technology team is to serve the CSOL faculty, staff, students, and patrons.
  • Install, administer and monitor CSOL servers, switches, PC’s, firewalls, printers, VOIP phone systems, and other network related devices.
  • Assist with Exam coverage and Orientation.
  • Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls.
  • Keep systems upgraded to the latest versions.
  • Document work orders through Spiceworks ticketing system.
  • Document technical produces and user guides.
  • Some Website responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a System Administrator or similar role.
  • Experience with databases, networking and patch management.
  • Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server, VMWare, O365, OSX (iOS and Coldfusion are a preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • BS/BA in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline or equivalent experience; professional certifications are a preferred.
