Technical Services Assistant

The Charleston School of Law seeks resumes for the part-time position of Technical Services Assistant. The successful candidate must be detail-oriented, with strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.  The Technical Services Assistant will provide assistance to the Library Systems and Technical Services Specialist in the maintenance of the law library’s materials.  This position will add, label, and shelve new resources for the library collections, assist in projects pertaining to the maintenance of library materials and the electronic catalog, as well as sort and label incoming mail.  This role is also responsible for performing routine shelf checks and collection management.

Qualifications and Requirements:

1. High school degree is required. Enrollment in higher education is preferred;

2. Someone who is detail-oriented and enjoys being involved in projects from beginning to end;

3. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer skills;

4. Strong and accurate oral and written communication skills;

5. Organizational skills, time management, a high level of attention to detail and confidentiality are essential;

6. Ability to take direction and work effectively with others as a team player;

7. Prior formal or informal training experience.

Assistant Director of Recruitment

The Charleston School of Law seeks applicants for the full-time position of Assistant Director of Recruitment.  The ideal candidate will work successfully on individual projects and as part of a team, is an excellent communicator, is detail-oriented, is very organized, enjoys working with students and is comfortable working with prospective legal employers.  This position will be primarily responsible for maintaining resources within the Department of Career Services, Pro Bono Department and Externship program, communicating with students and prospective employers regarding employment opportunities and on-campus interviews and providing professional development programming support and counseling.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree is required, juris doctor is preferred.
  2. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  3. Ability to handle projects individually and as part of a team.
  4. Proficiency working within computer-based programs including Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Pro, and willingness to master and maintain internal digital program for job postings and departmental resources.
  5. Ability to counsel students regarding preparation of professional job-related documents.
  6. Organizational skills, time management, attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality are essential.
  7. Ability to multi-task is a necessity.

Test Administration Coordinator

The Charleston School of Law seeks resumes for an enthusiastic and motivated Test Administration Coordinator. The Test Administration Coordinator will report to the Administrative Manager for Academic Affairs and oversee the execution of all academic testing. This position will coordinate all aspects of testing from making the necessary copies and assigning proctors for each exam room to ensuring all exam procedures are followed on the test day and finally making sure all student responses are accurately delivered to the appropriate faculty member. The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to manage several tasks with different deadlines at one time.

Faculty Assistant

The Charleston School of Law seeks resumes for a full-time Faculty Assistant. The Faculty Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support and assistance to several faculty members on a variety of tasks and projects. The Faculty Assistant must maintain accurate attendance records, provide administrative and clerical support to faculty as needed, act as a liaison between faculty and students, and follow up with faculty members to ensure all necessary semester materials are submitted to Academic Affairs in a timely manner.
