Director of Communications and Special Events

The purpose of this full-time position is to develop and facilitate effective internal marketing and communication strategies.  Promote news and events through the law school’s publications, website, message boards and social media platforms.  Oversee branding objectives through best practices messaging and maintaining online content.  Help build and maintain positive, productive relationships with the law school’s constituents and donors.  Work closely with the external Public Relations Consultant to develop press releases, monitor media hits and implement public relations campaigns to raise visibility with the public.  Plan and implement all aspects of institutional special events.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Communication or a related field of study is required. JD preferred.
  2. Collaborative working style is essential.
  3. A minimum of two years working in the legal field and/or event planning.
  4. Must have knowledge of social media platforms, and WordPress.
  5. Experience with photography, Adobe Creative Suite or other editing software.
  6. Demonstrates high level of energy and creativity.
  7. Solid analytical, facilitative and planning skills essential.
  8. Excellent communication, event management, and organization skills necessary.
