Computer Services & Information Technology

Computer Services provides software and hardware support for the computing needs of faculty, staff and students. Students may contact our IT Department at 843-329-1000, ext. 4050, to schedule an appointment or for information. Students can also email IT Support at sts@charlestonlaw.edu. Click here to view our most frequently asked questions (FAQs).

Computer Services Help Desk

Each semester, our Information Technology department schedules regular hours to answer questions regarding computer maintenance, to diagnose any computer glitches, and to assist with connecting to the Charleston School of Law wireless network, printers and more. The Help Desk is located in the Sol Blatt Jr. Law Library, Room 115. Hours are posted on bulletin boards located in the library.

Email

Students will receive a law school email account during their orientation. Official communications to and from the school will always be sent to this account.

Off-Campus Access

Faculty and students may access numerous electronic resources while off campus with their computer. Access is available when you click on a database on the library's database and catalog page from off campus. You are challenged for your user name and password. The user name is your complete Charleston School of Law email address and the password is the one created to access your Charleston School of Law email.

TWEN

Many professors use Westlaw's course management system, TWEN, to manage their courses. With TWEN, faculty members may post syllabi and course materials online in one place that is easily accessible to students. For information about TWEN, contact Melissa Strickland, reference librarian, at ext. 4908. Access to TWEN is through your Westlaw password. Questions regarding your Westlaw password should be directed to Melissa Strickland at ext. 4908.

Web 2.0, Wikis, and Blogs

If you would like to learn about using Web 2.0 tools such as blogs, wikis, or social bookmarking to communicate and collaborate with other students or faculty members, contact Associate Dean Lisa Smith-Butler at ext. 2144.
