DEC. 7, 2018 – The Charleston School of Law will graduate one master’s degree of law student and 46 law students during a 2 p.m. Dec. 16 winter commencement ceremony at Trident Technical College in North Charleston.
The school will confer juris doctor (J.D.) law degrees on 46 students who completed their studies in August and this month. One student will receive a Master of Laws ((LL.M.) in Admiralty and Maritime Law. Speakers will include several members of the law school’s faculty.
“One of the incredible things about this school, and something of which I am honored to be part, is that each student, alumni, faculty and staff member shows dedication to the founding motto: Pro Bono Populi, which can be translated as ‘for the good of people,’” President Ed Bell said. “The dedication of time and effort toward the betterment of others throughout the community is a worthwhile proposition and something that will serve well in their lives, both as attorneys and in general.”
Dean Andy Abrams, who will preside at the ceremony, added, “This group of talented legal minds has spent the past few years immersed in a vast array of legal topics, while gaining crucial knowledge, skills and practical experience through a range of experiential learning opportunities. They leave us today ready for the bright and exciting future that awaits them.”
